Local Action Group
The GAL Le Terre di Aci is a public-private partnership active since 2016, based in the Etna area which includes the municipalities of Acireale, Aci Catena, Aci Bonaccorsi, Aci Sant'Antonio and Valverde, created with the aim of promoting an integrated and sustainable development of the territory through the enhancement of local natural, cultural and productive resources. Structured as a non-profit consortium, it operates within the framework of the Rural Development Program of Sicily and the LEADER initiatives to support projects that strengthen agricultural sectors, craftsmanship, responsible tourism and cultural activities. The GAL acts as a facilitator, guiding local actors in the definition and implementation of growth strategies, in accessing funding, in creating new businesses and in promoting cooperation between public and private entities, with the aim of enhancing community identity, generating employment and improving the quality of life in the Terre di Aci area.
