Local Action Group
The GAL Sicani is a cooperative consortium non-profit organization, founded in 2009, operating in the rural areas of western Sicily covering up to 32 municipalities between the provinces of Agrigento and Palermo. Since its establishment, it has taken on the role of implementing body of the "Rural District of Quality of the Sicani", developing integrated local strategies within the framework of the Rural Development Program of Sicily and the LEADER programs, with the aim of enhancing agro-livestock, natural and cultural heritage, promoting short supply chains, sustainable tourism, and digital inclusion. The GAL's action involves public entities, businesses, associations, and citizens through territorial animation, technical-administrative support, training, and the creation of territorial networks, generating new impulses for economic and social development in the inland areas of Sicily.
