Local Action Group
The GAL Kalat is a non-profit consortium founded in 2009, operating in the Calatino area and part of the province of Caltanissetta with the aim of promoting sustainable, participatory, and integrated rural development. By involving public entities, businesses, associations, and citizens, the GAL supports the enhancement of local resources through projects that encourage innovation in agricultural supply chains, the creation of micro-enterprises, the promotion of sustainable tourism, and the revitalization of villages. The approach followed is bottom-up, aimed at promoting cooperation among the different actors in the territory, strengthening local identity, and contributing to the creation of employment and the improvement of quality of life in rural areas. With a long-term strategic vision, the GAL Kalat aims to transform the potential of the territory into concrete opportunities for social, economic, and environmental development and regeneration.
