Founded in Rome on February 14, 1971, Confesercenti is one of Italy's leading business associations. Born from the merger of four trade associations, it now represents over 350,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in various sectors and employing more than one million people.

Structure and Representation
Confesercenti is structured into a vast network that includes:

Over 70 trade federations.

More than 350,000 member SMEs in the sectors of commerce, tourism, services, crafts, and industry.

A widespread network with 120 provincial offices, 20 regional offices, and over 1,000 local offices.

More than 5,000 employees provide support to businesses.

Mission and Objectives
Confesercenti's primary mission is to represent and support SMEs, recognizing their fundamental contribution to Italy's GDP and employment. The association aims to foster business and economic growth by collaborating with institutions and other social, economic, and cultural organizations.

Since its founding, the goal has been to give economic and social value and dignity to SMEs, promoting their development and innovation through a qualified network of local organizations.

Areas of Intervention
Over the course of its history, Confesercenti has expanded its areas of intervention, focusing on several strategic fronts:

Innovation: Since the late 1990s, the association has pushed for technological innovation for SMEs, with initiatives such as the first website and telematic networks for document transmission as early as 1993.

Economic and Labor Policies: It has played an active role in national economic policy decisions through agreements with governments and has participated in the signing of numerous collective bargaining agreements and labor market management agreements.

Legality: Since the 1990s, Confesercenti has been actively engaged in the fight against racketeering and usury, supporting victims and promoting legality as an essential condition for the future of businesses. The "SOS Impresa" association is the operational arm of this commitment.

Female Entrepreneurship: The association actively promotes the role of women in the business world through the National Coordination of Female Entrepreneurship (CNIF).
