Assoviaggi is the Italian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies, a trade federation promoted and organized by Confesercenti to represent operators in the travel and tourism sector, including travel agencies, tour operators, and related businesses affiliated with Confesercenti.
Main activities:
Representation and advocacy: Protection of member companies’ interests before European and national institutions, including the European Union, the Italian Government, and Parliament, on strategic issues such as fiscal policies (VAT and taxes), travel safety, credit facilities, and integration of transport policies.
Collective bargaining: Representation of companies in negotiations for the renewal of the sector-wide collective bargaining agreement.
Tourism promotion: Support for tourism initiatives targeting young and senior travelers.
Participation in trade fairs: Facilitation of company participation, both collectively and individually, in major tourism trade fairs.
Professional training: Provision of training and continuing education for travel agents, including IATA ticketing courses (basic and advanced) and corporate marketing courses.
Insurance agreements: Arrangement of agreements for essential insurance coverage, such as liability, surety bonds, and airline and rail ticketing.
Collaboration support: Assistance for businesses in forming consortia and purchasing groups.
Business services: Facilitation of access to services such as the Euro Help Desk, credit facilities, and social security assistance.
