Local Action Group
The Lions Club of Sicily, affiliated with District 108 Yb Sicily, is part of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest humanitarian service organization. It brings together over a hundred clubs distributed across the island, whose members volunteer to promote initiatives of solidarity, health, social inclusion, environmental protection, youth support, and cultural heritage.
Sicilian Lions are active in numerous areas of social interest: from preventive healthcare and vision care to support for people with disabilities, from the fight against poverty to food security, from environmental protection to the enhancement of the island's historical, artistic, and cultural heritage. They also pay close attention to young people through training programs, civic education, orientation, international exchanges, and leadership initiatives.
Following the international motto "We Serve," the Lions Clubs of Sicily collaborate with public bodies, schools, universities, associations, and third-sector organizations to implement concrete and lasting interventions. In addition to their service activities, the clubs also represent an important meeting place for professionals, entrepreneurs, and citizens united by the values of ethics, solidarity, and civic engagement, contributing to the social and cultural development of the Sicilian region.
