The Colle Madore – Lercara Friddi project, explored by Identità Siciliana, explores one of the most important archaeological sites in the area, located on the slopes of the hill where the village originates.

Colle Madore preserves traces of an ancient Sican settlement and testifies to human presence in the area since prehistoric times. Over the centuries, the site has maintained a strategic role thanks to its location between valleys and proximity to Sicily's internal transport routes.

Beyond its archaeological value, the hill is closely linked to the mining history of Lercara Friddi, which for decades based its economy on sulfur extraction. Today, the area represents an important cultural and scenic point of interest, a symbol of the region's historical identity.
