The Lucchesiana Library in Agrigento is one of the oldest and most prestigious historical libraries in Sicily, located in the heart of the historic center, along Via Duomo. Founded in 1765 by Bishop Andrea Lucchesi Palli, it began as a library open to the public, with the aim of promoting study and the dissemination of knowledge.
Today, the Lucchesiana preserves a valuable collection of books, including ancient volumes, manuscripts, 16th-century works, and rare texts that bear witness to centuries of cultural and religious history. The historic spaces, characterized by elegant wooden shelves and period reading rooms, make the library not only a place of conservation but also an important cultural and tourist attraction. The Lucchesiana Library thus represents a fundamental point of reference for the historical memory of Agrigento and for the promotion of its cultural heritage.
