The Zingaro Nature Reserve is one of Sicily's most famous protected areas, located between San Vito Lo Capo and Scopello. Established in 1981, it was the region's first nature reserve, created to protect a pristine stretch of coastline after citizens protested against the construction of a coastal road.
Today, it is a true natural paradise characterized by crystal-clear coves, scenic trails, prehistoric caves, and Mediterranean scrub. The reserve can only be visited on foot and offers hiking trails immersed in nature, with spectacular views of the Gulf of Castellammare.
