The Puppet Village is a small but significant museum, acquired by the Municipality of Ficarra, which houses the works of maestro Gianpistone, creator of the numerous marionettes, stage animals, and structures inspired by the imagery of "One Thousand and One Nights."
Conceived not only as an exhibition space but also as a permanent workshop, the museum was founded with the aim of protecting and transmitting to new generations the art of puppetry, a valuable traditional skill now at risk of extinction. The works, created in the 1980s with the contribution of young people with disabilities, were first presented at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto.
The exhibition also represents a fascinating testimony to the influences and references to Islamic culture, contributing to enriching the panorama of Sicilian artistic traditions.
