In August, Catania commemorates the return of Saint Agatha’s relics, back to the city in 1126. Beginning on August 6, masses and devotions are held. The highlight falls on August 17: morning veneration opens the reliquary, followed by a solemn Mass in the Cathedral. In the evening, the relics are carried in a moving procession through the historic center, accompanied by festive lights and fireworks. The celebrations conclude on August 18, with ongoing moments of prayer and community spirit.
