Carnevale di Acireale

In 2025, the Acireale Carnival once again transformed the city into a riot of color, music, and wonder, confirming its status as one of the most anticipated and spectacular events in Italy. For three weeks, between mid-February and early March, the streets of the historic center welcomed thousands of visitors immersed in an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm, irony, and creativity. The grotesque allegorical floats, authentic papier-mâché colossi sculpted with masterful craftsmanship, paraded along the baroque circuit, moving with incredible mechanical precision amidst plays of light, special effects, and musical choreography, satirically recounting the contradictions and paradoxes of the present.

Alongside these allegorical giants, the elegant flower-bedecked floats paraded, veritable floral masterpieces composed of thousands of fresh flowers, animated by synchronized lights and movements. The entire center of Acireale was transformed into an open-air theater, with squares and alleyways resounding with laughter, singing, street performers, and spontaneous dances. Every corner of the city was filled with an overwhelming vitality, where tradition merged with innovation, and folklore with imagination.

The opening ceremony ignited the festival with musical performances and the presentation of the floats, while the central days were enlivened by events for adults and children, games, concerts, and masked parades. Mardi Gras marked the culmination of the Carnival, with the announcement of the winning floats and a grand finale of fireworks that illuminated the city in an explosion of light and color.

The 2025 edition was celebrated with extraordinary participation, garnering enthusiasm from residents and visitors from all over Italy and beyond. The magic of the Acireale Carnival, combining refined satire, ephemeral art, and shared beauty, once again provided an intense and memorable experience, capable of touching the hearts and imaginations of all who took part.
