La Macchina dei Sogni (“The Dream Machine”) is a puppetry and narrative theatre festival conceived by Mimmo Cuticchio and now in its 42nd edition. Established in 1984 to celebrate Giacomo Cuticchio’s artistic life, it stands as one of Italy’s longest-running festivals focused on puppet theatre, marionettes, and oral storytelling. Each year the festival embraces a new creative theme, weaving together stories, poetry, narrative theatre, and music. With over a thousand performances featuring puppet shows, shadow theatre, and visual art, it offers programming designed for both children and adults. Unconventional urban and natural settings—such as the historic theatrical workshop on Via Bara, museums, courtyards, and squares—become immersive stages where audiences are invited to participate actively in the imaginative storytelling. Featuring Italian companies and premieres, the festival transforms viewers into active collaborators in the narrative process. The 2025 edition, titled The Fury and the Beauty, takes place in the picturesque village of Polizzi Generosa in the Madonie Park, emphasizing the interplay between nature, folk heritage, and contemporary art
