Marranzano World Fest is a summer world music festival rooted in Sicilian folk tradition and open to global influences. Centered on the marranzanu—the Sicilian jew’s harp—the festival expands each year toward a rich palette of soundscapes: Mediterranean lutes, African drums, Eastern flutes, and Indian melodies. Concerts, workshops, masterclasses, and talks take place in historic squares, courtyards, and natural settings in Catania and its surroundings, while artisan instrument markets and theme-based exhibitions enrich the cultural journey. Each edition unfolds around a central curatorial theme, fostering exchanges between local communities and international artists. Marranzano becomes a vibrant, participatory celebration of sound that honors identity, creativity, and cultural dialogue.
