The Radicepura Garden Festival, launched in 2017, is the first international biennial fully devoted to garden design and Mediterranean landscape architecture. Set within the Radicepura Botanical Park in Giarre, at the foot of Mount Etna, each edition turns the site into a creative stage for designers, artists, and landscape architects from around the globe. Combining temporary show gardens—selected through an international call—and permanent installations, the festival addresses contemporary themes such as sustainability, biodiversity, and the interplay of chaos and order. The experience is enriched with workshops, talks, film screenings (including the Garden in Movies program), concerts, and exhibition trails, offering a blend of visual experimentation and ecological awareness. Far from merely a space for aesthetic admiration, Radicepura becomes a hub for learning, exchange, and reimagining relationships with nature, rooted in Sicily’s unique botanical richness.
