The Catania Off Fringe Festival is a dynamic annual arts event held in Catania each autumn, dedicated to independent theatre and performance disciplines. From October into November, the city becomes a sprawling stage, with theatre, dance, music, multilingual performances, and installations staged in unconventional venues—from repurposed workshops to courtyards, squares, and alternative theatres. Guided by a curatorial theme centered around cultural journey and artistic cross-pollination, the festival invites emerging companies from Italy and abroad. Each venue presents 2–3 performances per day, creating a continuous cultural rhythm from afternoon through late evening. Village Off at Le Ciminiere serves as the festival hub, hosting exhibitions, talks, and networking moments that bring together artists, audiences, and professionals. Most events are free or offered at symbolic prices to ensure accessibility. The festival encourages direct interaction between spectators and performers, fosters cultural innovation, and contributes to urban regeneration with an inclusive, participatory spirit.
