The Ducal Palace of the Tomasi di Lampedusa family, located in Palma di Montechiaro, is a symbol of the noble Tomasi di Lampedusa family, famous for their connection with the author of The Leopard. This building, now municipal property, preserves the city's historical and cultural identity.
The Art Bonus project promoted a structural renovation aimed at enhancing the palace's noble rooms. The work included the complete resurfacing of the plasterwork on the main floor, the renovation of the main atrium, and the restoration of the historic furnishings. The decorative shelving, architectural decorations, and original structural elements were meticulously restored, aimed at preserving the character and historical memory of the property.
The fundraising campaign, which concluded successfully, raised €237,000.00 in donations, approaching the total budget. The implementation phase has already begun, a tangible sign of the commitment to protecting cultural heritage.
Thanks to this intervention, the Palazzo Ducale dei Tomasi di Lampedusa now boasts restored and accessible rooms, capable of hosting visits and cultural initiatives, thus enhancing the historical memory and local architecture.
