Scenica Festival 2025

Description

Scenica Festival is a multidisciplinary event organized by the Santa Briganti Cultural Association in Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa. Born in 2009 as a small experiment, it has become a consolidated fixture of the Iblean spring, with a strong identity in the arts of circus, theater, dance, and music, as well as hybrid and contemporary languages. The festival offers not only performances, but also workshops, artistic residencies, exhibitions, installations, and collateral events, becoming a space for cultural exchange and discussion for local, national, and European artists.
The 2025 edition will take place from May 10th to 25th, spread over three weekends, using some of the most significant locations in Vittoria's historic center as its natural stage: the Teatro Comunale, the Villa Comunale, the Chiostro delle Grazie, and several historic squares. Over 50 performances are planned, featuring approximately 25 guest companies, with an estimated attendance of around 12,000 people. The program is designed for a wide audience—families, children, teens, and citizens of all ages—with free, accessible, and open-air performances, designed to serve as opportunities for community and sharing.
The project takes environmental sustainability seriously, promoting waste reduction practices and supporting performances and workshops that address green economy issues. There's also a desire to foster dialogue between the arts and communities: the "Territory" section aims to showcase local companies, while "Raccordi" connects different local communities through free events in the streets, making public spaces vibrant places for social and cultural participation.
With a required budget of €20,000, the project is currently fundraising. Supporting Scenica means contributing to the cultural development of the area, creating art spaces, supporting independent artistic production, and stimulating a positive impact on the local community in terms of culture, society, and tourism.
