The project to celebrate the 40th edition of Taormina Arte includes a week of high-profile events, with the aim of retracing and highlighting the artistic and cultural history of the event. The Foundation is organizing a conference that will recount the event's history, its impact on the Sicilian region, and the dialogue it has established with major Italian and international cultural institutions.
At the same time, a virtual exhibition will be set up on the historic facades of buildings along Corso Umberto: images from concerts, theater, and dance performances that have animated the Ancient Theater over the years will be projected into urban settings, restoring visual memory to the heart of Taormina. A photographic catalog will be produced, accompanied by texts by critics and journalists, capturing memorable moments of the event through evocative images and critical insight.
Concerts will be the focus of the event: prestigious orchestras and opera productions will be hosted in the Ancient Theater, offering top-level performances. This celebratory edition aims not only to celebrate an anniversary, but also to reaffirm the cultural and symbolic value of Taormina Arte for the city, Sicily, and beyond.
The €250,000 budget covered the planning and implementation of all these initiatives, allowing the Foundation to support artistic production, communication, multimedia installations, the multi-venue exhibition, the conference, and the scheduled performances.
