Performare Festival is a cultural initiative promoted by the IN ARTE Cultural Association of Serradifalco, active since 2008. Founded in 2018, the festival aims to be a hub for contemporary dance and the performing arts, with the aim of showcasing emerging talent, stimulating creativity, and promoting the cultural development of the Sicilian region. In 2021, the project received recognition from the Ministry of Culture as a dance festival, thus consolidating its national importance.
The 2025 edition, the seventh, will consist of two main events: a preview from July 26th to 31st and the main program from September 1st to 6th. For the three-year period 2025-2027, the chosen theme is "Body Universe," a journey that explores the body as origin, living memory, archive in transformation, and creative tool. This underlying theme reflects on time in performing art, understood as presence, experience, and change.
The festival will host shows, performances, workshops, artistic residencies, and in-depth meetings. The activities are designed for a broad and diverse audience: professional dancers, young artists, students, children, and adults. The inclusive and interdisciplinary approach aims to foster dialogue between generations, communities, and choreographic languages of both national and international scope. For a few days, Serradifalco will thus be transformed into a dynamic center of cultural exchange and collective growth.
The overall budget is €8,000, and the project is currently open for fundraising. Contributing means supporting the dissemination of contemporary culture, encouraging artistic training, generating new opportunities for young people, and strengthening the network of cultural relations. The festival therefore represents an investment in the creative and social future of the local community.
