Local Action Group
The GAL Elimos is a public-private consortium company, established in 2011, operating in the territory of the province of Trapani, extending over an area rich in history, environment, and rural traditions. Its aim is to promote balanced and sustainable development of a network of municipalities, involving local authorities, businesses, and communities in a participatory bottom-up approach. Through local action plans, animation services, and digital facilitation, the GAL supports activities aimed at enhancing agricultural resources, cultural heritage - including Islamic archaeology itineraries - and natural beauties such as greenways and protected areas. In particular, it promotes responsible tourism, strengthening short supply chains, creating start-ups, and enhancing digital skills, aiming to counter depopulation and generate new job opportunities, especially for young people, creating a model of integrated and innovative development in north-western Sicily.
