GAL Eloro

Local Action Group

The GAL Eloro is a mixed public-private consortium active in the southeastern area of the province of Siracusa, including the municipalities of Avola, Noto, Pachino, Portopalo di Capo Passero, and Rosolini. Established in 1999, the GAL's mission is to promote integrated, sustainable, and locally rooted development, focusing on quality agriculture, authentic rural tourism, cultural, archaeological, and landscape heritage, as well as the creation of new businesses and entrepreneurial initiatives. Through calls for proposals and territorial animation tools, the organization supports local stakeholders in accessing funding, defining shared strategies, digitizing activities, and strengthening agri-food chains, with a particular emphasis on innovation, social cohesion, and youth employment. In this perspective, it also promotes projects of supra-local cooperation, for example for the enhancement of organic citrus fruits, aiming to consolidate the resilience of the local communities by transforming local potential into concrete economic and social development.
