Local Action Group
The GAL Terre Normanne is a consortium with a public-private nature established in 2009 to promote the integrated rural development of the area west of Palermo, including seventeen municipalities. Financed through the RDP Sicily, it operates according to the LEADER method with a concrete commitment to enhancing territorial resources through rural itineraries, short supply chains, cultural tourism, and agritourism. Its approach aims to regenerate the local economy through small-scale infrastructure projects, zero-kilometer producer markets, initiatives for social cohesion and community digitalization, with the goal of promoting widespread entrepreneurship, strengthening cultural identity, and combating depopulation in the inland areas. Overall, it represents a sustainable and participatory development engine for the Terre Normanne, with a strong focus on the environment, culture, and quality of life.
