The School Library at the Don Lorenzo Milani High School in Caltanissetta is located on Via Filippo Turati and is a hub for promoting reading and creativity among students of all levels. Its primary goal is to provide students with the tools to independently manage information, particularly focusing on reading, multimedia, critical thinking, and cultural inclusion.
The project involved a total investment of €10,000 to implement a series of activities aimed at strengthening a love of books and the sharing of knowledge. Specifically, the following activities were implemented:
the creation and publication of the book "Parole d'inchiostro," part of the "I piccoli eroi della Terra" series and linked to the national project "Noi come voi, Mission impossible?";
creative and theatrical writing workshops, with the possible publication of students' works;
opening the library not only to students but also to the local community, with the organization of cultural events, meetings with authors, and themed days;
moments dedicated to animated reading, the promotion of legality, ecology, and sustainable consumption;
Collective activities such as "literary snacks" and discussion spaces, where children could meet, relax, and share thoughts around stories and books.
The project ended with the closing of the fundraising campaign and is updated as of January 18, 2022, after which no further changes to the project's budget or activities have been recorded.
